The Land of Goshen -
Tel Basta and Succoth are two archaeological sites located in the Nile delta. Tel Basta was the ancient capital of Goshen and has associations therefore with Joseph. From Succoth the children of Israel set off on their Exodus journey. Present excavations help to give insight to the lifestyle of the day including the practice of using mud-straw bricks, which can still be seen.
And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near unto me, thou, and thy children, and thy children's children, and thy flocks, and thy herds, and all that thou hast: Gen 45:10

The Pharoanic Village -
A step back in time - about three thousand years back to be exact.
Just a few miles from the center of Cairo is a time machine waiting to take you on a fantastic journey to the days of the Pharaohs, a time brought to life by an incredible group of actors and actresses, faithful and exact reproductions of buildings, clothing, and lifestyles. Dr. Ragab the Director, has worked for over twenty years to create the most precise living recreation of the golden days of Phaoronic Egypt, and now you will join him on this fascinating journey to the past.

The Giza Plateu -
Perhaps Cairo's main attraction. The last surviving remnants of the 'Seven Wonders of the ancient world' - the Pyramids of Giza, guarded by the SPHINX.
There are three pyramids the largest of which is the Great Pyramid of the Pharaoh Cheops of the Fourth Dynasty, built around 2700 B.C. covering 13 acres and 480 feet high. It has funeral compartments and a huge network of passages.
The Sphinx measures 190 feet and is 66 feet high with a human-headed lion. Most authorities say it was built by Cheops and its face has his likeness.
A stunning region that never fails to impress the visitor.
Christian Cairo -
The Hanging Church derives its name from its location on top of the southern tower gate of the old Babylon fortress with its nave suspended above the passage. The church was the seat of the Coptic patriarchate until the 14th century. It became known to travellers during the 14th and 15th centuries as the "staircase church" because of the twenty-nine steps that lead to the entrance. Inside the church are collections of over one hundred icons of which the oldest dates from the 8th century. The craftsmanship of the 10th-13th century iconostases is inlaid in cedar, ebony and walnut.
